We offer a range of services for our fellow islanders who face mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, relationship struggles, a substance use disorder, and a wide range of behavioral health challenges. Our compassionate, professional team of clinicians provides a continuum of community-based services, including individual psychotherapy, medication management, substance misuse treatment, and family and couples therapy. All services at Fairwinds are confidential, provided without judgment, and designed for flexibility to fit your schedule.
Couples often struggle to have productive conversations, and find it difficult to see situations through their partner’s eyes. Our therapists help identify the unproductive patterns of communication that are creating barriers, and present alternative approaches that help couples gain a deeper understanding of each other’s needs and how best to meet them.
The focus of family therapy is to consider the goals of the family as a whole. A clinician assists in establishing family goals and identifying desired outcomes. Throughout the course of treatment, the clinician facilitates the processes of communication, skills-building, and boundary-setting. Other therapeutic tools and treatment methods will help the family build on its strengths as a way of successfully reaching satisfactory outcomes.
Fairwinds provides in-home and community-based services for youth as part of the CBHI, or Community Behavioral Health Initiative, treatment model that includes in-home therapy and therapeutic mentoring. These services benefit the youth served as well as their entire family system and network of natural supports. A master’s level clinician and a paraprofessional often work in collaboration with the child or adolescent as well as the family and other collateral contacts and supports to offer a structured, consistent, family-centered, strength-based therapeutic model.
This program provides community-based services to adults with a mental health or substance use diagnosis including those whose challenges interfere with their ability to access essential medical services.
Our number one goal is to help our fellow islanders address mental health and substance misuse challenges when they need it, help them build rewarding and healthy relationships, and establish positive habits and behaviors that will support them throughout life. If you are concerned about the financial commitment to mental health treatment, please know that we offer flexibility in our rates based on financial need. In fact, it’s part of our mission. We invite you to fill out a sliding fee application.
