Abby Perelman had a long career as a school psychologist and special education program supervisor in West Hartford, CT. She was a longtime board member of Jewish Family Services, also in West Hartford, and vice chair of the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford. She has board experience in development as chair of the development committee of the board of Wheelock College (where she received her undergraduate degree). Abby’s graduate degrees are from University of Hartford. She married into a family whose summer ties to the Nantucket community go back to before WWII, and herself has been coming to the island since 1972. Since her retirement in 2008, she spends about five months a year on Nantucket, and the rest of the year in West Palm Beach, FL. She volunteers for Autism Speaks in both communities. She has two sons and daughters-in-law, and five grandsons who live in Scarsdale, NY and Los Angeles, CA.
