Barbara is a graduate of Boston University (B.A. in English Literature) and Boston College Law School (J.D., 1982). Prior to attending law school, she worked for 8 years as an acquisitions editor signing and developing history and political science books for Ginn & Company, D.C. Heath, and Houghton Mifflin. After becoming an attorney, Barbara became a Partner in three large Boston law firms, Burns & Levinson, Holland & Knight, and Foley Hoag. She specialized in litigation, employment, and health care law. She has served on many boards and committees, including the Management Committee of my law firm. Barbara has done volunteer work for many nonprofits, including the Boston Club, Newton Wellesley Hospital, Boston Children’s Hospital Advisory Board, Children’s Hospital League, Nantucket Historical Association, Maria Mitchell Association, and Frenchman’s Reserve Charitable Board. Barbara's background in health care law and interests have prepared her to be a member of Fairwinds's Advisory Board, which is such an important organization on Nantucket.
