Born and raised on Nantucket, Ben saw firsthand the mental health challenges facing island communities — often underserved and cut off from consistent care by geography and seasonality. That experience shaped a career-long commitment to expanding access to behavioral health support for populations who need it most.

Ben earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from New York University and began his career in direct clinical practice, working with young men involved in gang life in Los Angeles and New York City. This work grounded him in the realities of trauma, systemic inequity, and the barriers that keep vulnerable populations from getting care — perspective that continues to inform his approach to building health technology today.

From front line social work, he moved into public service with the Bloomberg Mayoral Administration in New York City, where an interest in data and systems led to a career transition into data science and technology. Since then, he has built a career at the intersection of clinical insight and technical execution —working across product, engineering, and R&D roles at telehealth behavioral health companies focused on pediatric care, including Hazel Health.

He currently serves as Lead Growth Engineer at Clarity Pediatrics, where he applies this cross-disciplinary background — clinical training, public sector experience, and technical expertise — to help scale access to pediatric behavioral healthcare.
